In 2024, Volkswagen made revisions to the battery pack options, and the automaker updated the infotainment system and other interior features in the 2025 models. The ID.4 models with the 58.0-kWh battery pack have a 12.9-inch infotainment display, while the ID.4 S models with the same battery pack have ventilated front seats.
If you choose the S and S Plus models, you’ll have the option of adding the Black Package. This package includes blacked-out mirror caps, door handles, badging, and 20-inch aluminum wheels. The S Plus models now come with an auto-dimming driver’s side exterior mirror.
Range & Charging Options
The Volkswagen ID.4 is available with two battery pack options. The entry-level 58.0-kWh pack has an EPA-estimated range of 206 miles, while the larger 82.0-kWh battery pack has an EPA-estimated range of 263 miles with a single motor or 291 miles with the dual-motor configuration. The smaller battery pack is only available with rear-wheel drive, while the larger one comes in either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The newest 2025 VW ID.4 models come with three years of complimentary charging at Electrify America stations, where it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. With a Level 2 240-volt charger, the ID.4 needs about six hours to charge the small battery or eight hours to fill the large one.

The entry-level Volkswagen ID.4 Standard is outfitted with features like cloth and synthetic leather upholstery, manually adjustable seats, and heated front seats. It comes with a 5.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen with Android™ Auto and Apple CarPlay®, navigation, SiriusXM Satellite Radio®, HD Radio™, voice recognition, Bluetooth®, and a seven-speaker sound system. Convenience features include a Wi-Fi® hotspot, four USB ports, and wireless device charging.
