For its past few generations, the Honda Accord has been a virtual king amongst audiences and critics in the midsize sedan segment of vehicles. Although unchanged for its 2019 model, this means the Honda Accord still sets a high bar for its competition to match. That’s why, in the interest of an exciting matchup, we’ve chosen the Honda Accord to match up against the newly redesign 2020 Volkswagen Passat!
Debuting back in January in Detroit and displaying yet again now at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2020 Volkswagen Passat replicates the stylish revitalization of the 2019 VW Jetta while upgrading tech and torque as well. Are these changes enough to surpass the 2019 Honda Accord? Let’s find out! It’s the 2020 Volkswagen Passat vs the 2019 Honda Accord!
The 2019 Honda Accord has more horsepower, but the 2019 Volkswagen Passat has more torque, upholstery options, and double the warranty length. Fuel economy and pricing should also be considered, but Volkswagen has not yet released that information regarding the 2020 VW Passat.
However, as for the feature upgrades we mentioned, the 2020 Volkswagen Passat offers the following:
Full LED Exterior Lighting
Power Sunroof with Tilt-and-Slide
Park Distance Control
Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay™, and MirrorLink®
Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers
Nappa Leather Upholstery
VW Car-Net® Infotainment
Keyless Access with Push-Button Start
Remote Start System
Rear Traffic Alert
Climatronic® Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control
The 2020 Volkswagen Passat is releasing this summer in 2019. This mirrors the release of the 2019 VW Jetta redesign back in June 2018.
