You may remember our blog post back in June about the new 2017 #PinkBeetle, the first vehicle to ever be named as a hashtag and the first Beetle to be offered in Fresh Fuchsia Metallic paint. With sales of the limited-edition #PinkBeetle beginning in October, Volkswagen has celebrated by taking the month of September to auction off the first #PinkBeetle to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
Volkswagen Partners with The Pink Agenda and FAB-U-WISH
The first #PinkBeetle was put on the auction site charitybuzz.com throughout the month of September in efforts to raise money for two breast cancer charities, The Pink Agenda and FAB-U-WISH. The Pink Agenda is a partner with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and devotes its time working with the next generation of young professional leaders to find and fund programs that either improves the lives of those diagnosed with cancer or conduct research to improve their survival odds. Recently, The Pink Agenda has chosen FAB-U-WISH as one of their partner philanthropies to fund, and together they are working to increase the confidence and optimism of woman with breast cancer. FAB-U-WISH is the brainchild of TV personality and breast cancer survivor Giuliana Rancic, who credits part of her successful fight against breast cancer to her career, which made sure she was always dressed in the latest fashions and involved in Hollywood fun. FAB-U-WISH now grants fabulous wishes to those women living with breast cancer in hopes they too can feel confident in the face of adversity.
Breast cancer survivor Lisa Koehnen was the winner of the #PinkBeetle, with her final bid at $30,272.00. If you would like to learn more about the #PinkBeetle, please see the Beetle section of our blog or come visit us at J. Bertolet Volkswagen in Orwigsburg, PA.
