You may remember our blog post back in June about the new 2017 #PinkBeetle, the first vehicle to ever be named as a hashtag and the first Beetle to be offered in Fresh Fuchsia Metallic paint. With sales of the limited-edition #PinkBeetle beginning in October, Volkswagen has celebrated by taking the month of September to auction off the first #PinkBeetle to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
As crossovers and small SUVs continue to rise in popularity among new-car buyers, Volkswagen has recognized the need to expand its crossover offerings. A redesigned 2017 Tiguan with an available three-row-seating configuration should debut this year, and two smaller crossovers modeled on the T-Roc and T-Cross Breeze concepts are coming soon, too. A redesign for the midsize Touareg is also in the works, and the T-Prime crossover will enter the premium full-size SUV class in the US in 2017, according to VW’s action plan. (more…)

It seems like Volkswagen is making more efforts this year to get its name heard and its logo seen outside of the automotive world. Last month the company announced the 2015 Golf SportWagen as the official vehicle of USA Cycling. This didn’t seem much of a stretch, especially when seeing the images of the bicycles attached to roof racks. Now this month comes the news that Volkswagen sponsors Food Network Star, a show which is now in its 11th season. (more…)
2015 Volkswagen T6 Transporter model is revealed
Nothing, and we mean nothing, will replace the VW Microbus in our hippie hearts. When the Volkswagen Microbus Concept car was presented at the North American International Auto Show fourteen years ago we were pretty excited, though of course it remained a concept. The Volkswagen Routan promised us a VW minivan, but it doesn’t bring us any nostalgia. The Bulli Concept made waves in 2011, but still no dice on seeing it in showrooms. Now the 2015 Volkswagen T6 Transporter model is revealed for us to ponder over, but does it satisfy your nostalgia? (more…)
