2017 Volkswagen Golf Technology and Infotainment
Something really exciting is happening in the world of Volkswagen infotainment, and VW has finally given us a sneak peak into the updates that are taking their most successful model, the Volkswagen Golf, to the next level! Among new changes to the Golf such as engine options, design style, and driver assist system, the most notable update is the completely new generation of infotainment systems that can be operated by gesture control, a world’s first for the compact car segment.
Active Info Display
Offering a new and increasingly digital display and control concept, the Volkswagen infotainment update features larger touchscreens and available gesture control, which allows your to control your display using the swipe our your hand. Always looking for new ways to make the drive easier and more enjoyable for their customer, Volkswagen has created information profiles that will categorize the media in the Golf’s new display using sections and graphics. These profiles include:
- Consumption and Range
- Performance and Driver Assistance
Discover Pro System
Volkswagen continues to use the same names of the infotainment systems that were previously installed, however the similarities end there. The Composition Touch, Composition Colour, Composition Media, Discover Media, and Discover Pro all get increased technology, bigger touchscreen, more smartphone compatibility, better driver assist features, and better resolution. The top-of-the-line system, the Discover pro System with Navigation, will feature a 9.2-inch touchscreen that can operate with both touch and voice command, plus gesture control that uses proximity sensors.
